Babe Ruth-
On September 30th, Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run in front of 10,000 fans in Yankee Stadium. This home run broke his previous record of 59 in 1921. Babe Ruth has many nicknames such as The Bambino, Sultan of Swat, Mammoth of Maul, and Colossus of Clout.
Helen Wills-
She won the Wimbeldon title on July 2nd in England. She captured the famous tennis trophy for the United States for the first time in 20 years. Wills has many titles throughout her career. At age 17, she won the American Open and repeated with victory in 1924 and 1925. She won two gold medals in singles and doubles at the 1924 Olympics in Paris.
Charles Lindbergh-
He was the first American to fly solo across the Atlantic. He touched down safely at 10:24 pm in the spirit of St. Louis. The flight took 33 hours and 39 minutes non-stop from New York to Paris. This flight proved great implications for the future. Nearly 100,000 Parisians were on the tarmac at the Le Bolurget Airport when Lindbergh touched ground.
